Yves Racine (born February 7, 1969 in Matane, Quebec, Canada) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Playing career[]

Racine was drafted 11th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. He had played major junior for the Longueuil Chevaliers and the Victoriaville Tigres.

Despite a solid junior career, Racine was a nomad in the NHL. In nine years he played for six different teams. He played 508 games and scored 37 goals and 194 assists.

Racine went to Europe in 1998 and spent six seasons there.

He retired after the 2005–2006 season, his 2nd season playing for Thetford-Mines Prolab of the LNAH.
