Beaudoin received his first NHL shot in 1985 with Washington. That was the year he was a Memorial Cup all-star and played in the 1985 World Junior Championship for Canada. He played four games with the Caps, replacing Larry Murphy, who had broken his foot, and Rod Langway, out with a tweaked ligament in his knee.
The pattern repeated itself the next two years as he was called up for stints of six games and one game only to play the majority of the year in the minors. In those eleven NHL games, he registered neither a point nor a penalty minute, a complete blank on the scoresheets.
Seven years later he came out of retirement to play for the Quebec Semi Professional Hockey League (QSPHL) before retiring again in 2002.
