The Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils are a Men's Division III team in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  They joined the conference in 2013 when the conference was formed after playing in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association since 1996-97.

The program is based off campus at the Fanetti Community Center (formerly known as the Dunn County Ice Arena).

Program

The program was started in 1968-69.  The played many JV and club teams during their first several seasons as an independent team.

The program reached the NAIA playoffs in 1976.

Upon returning to varsity status the team joined the NCHA for the 1996-97 season.

The team qualified for the  2009 NCAA Division III tournament afteer winning the NCHA conference tournament.

The team joined the WIAC when the men's hockey league was formed for the 2013-14 season.

History

The varsity program was established for the 1968-69 season.  The first season the team compiled a record of 3-6-0 using student coaches to get the team started.  The team went through three coaches over the next three seasons and then hired Tom Slupe who would coach the team from 1972 to 1983 and compiled a 87-172-4 record. 

The program was cancelled after the 1982-83 season.  The program was resurrected in 1996.

The team hired Terry Watkins as head for the return season and he continues to be coach as of the end of the 2014-15 season.  As of the start of the 2015-16 season he has a 224-268-29 record.
