The Winnipeg Blues are a Canadian Junior A hockey team from Winnipeg, Manitoba. They are members of Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), and Canadian Junior Hockey League.

The MJHL franchise originated as the Winnipeg Monarchs in 1930. However, the team’s roots actual go back to the Fort Garry Blues of the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League. Where the Blues were inaugural members, and after 4 straight championships purchased the Monarchs on May 18,1978. The team would continue to play out of the Winnipeg suburb of Fort Garry at the Century Arena.

A consortium of 20 prominent Winnipeggers led by George Ulyatt purchased the team in 1984, renaming them the Winnipeg South Blues. The ownership group included Winnipeg Jets general manager John Ferguson.

For the 2010-11 season, the team moved into the new MTS Iceplex, located in the west end of the city, and shortened it’s name to Winnipeg Blues.

In 2019, 50 Below Sports + Entertainment Inc, owners of the Western Hockey League's Winnipeg Ice purchased the team. The Blues relocated to The Rink Training Centre in the Rural Municipality of Macdonald, just outside of the city.
