Wilfred "Wilfie" Starr (born July 22, 1909, date of death unknown) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played 87 games in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings and New York Americans. Starr was included on Detroit's 1936 team picture, but left off the cup. He spent most of that season in the minors, and did not play in NHL during the playoffs. He was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba.
He played for the junior Winnipeg Columbus Club in 1927-28 and then played senior hockey in Winnipeg from 1928 to 1930. THe New York Rangers signed him as a free agent in 1930 and assigned him to the Springfield Indians. Starr played there until the franchise folded in the early part of the 1932-33 season when he was traded to the New York Americans.
Starr got his NHL start with the Americans in 1932-33, scoring 4 goals and 3 assists in 26 games. His rights were then sold to the Detroit Red Wings in 1933 where he played on-and-off for three seasons.
In the NHL Starr played in 87 games and scored 8 goals and 6 assists.
His year of death is unknown.
