Virgil Johnson (b. March 4, 1909 in Minneapolis, Minnesota - d. September 9, 1993) was an American ice hockey defenceman. Johnson played professionally in the National Hockey League and American Hockey Association. He played for the Chicago Black Hawks winning the Stanley Cup in 1938.

Johnson played for the hometown Minneapolis Millers from 1931 to 1934 and then the St. Paul Saints from 1934 until they suspended play in 1942. He was the plating-coach of the Saints in 1938-39.

While with the Saints he was called up by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1937-38 and helped the team win the Stanley Cup.

After leaving the Saints he played 1942-43 with the Hershey Bears and then rejoined the Blackhawks in 1943-44 for one season.

Johnson played locally in Minnesota until his retirement in 1952.

He was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1974.
