The Vail Powder Hounds were a Amateur Athletic Union-sanctioned ice hockey team from Vail, Colorado. The team commenced play with the 2015-16 season. They played in the Rocky Mountain Junior Hockey League for the 2015-16 season as the Breckenridge Bucks. They were based out of the Stepen C West Ice Arena. The team operated as a partner of the Summit Lightning Youth Hockey Association and the Summit High School Tigers. The team joined the Western States Hockey League for the 2016-17 season. The team was originally scheduled to stay in Breckenridge, however; the RMJHL had awarded an expansion team to the city that became the Breckenridge Bears. The team would relocate to Vail, Colorado and be renamed the Vail Powder Hounds.

The team was quietly removed from the league around November 10, 2016. At the time of their folding the team had a record of 1-11-2 with 19 goals scored and 139 goals allowed.
