The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) went through a large expansion in the late 1930's just before World War II. One of the bases it used was in Trenton, Ontario.

The RCAF entered teams (Trenton RCAF Flyers) in the Ontario Hockey Association both as a training tool and to maintain morale.

The Flyers played at various levels (Senior B, Intermediate A, Intermediate B) from the late 30's onward. They won the Ontario Intermediate A title in 1937.

One player (Fred Lowrey) played in the NHL before playing for the Flyers.
