The Toronto Non-Contact Hockey League (TNCHL), is a minor level ice hockey league in Toronto, Canada. [1] The league was formed in 2009 by 5 parents one of which is Neil Clifford, after his child Phoenix suffered three concussions from hitting in a hockey game in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, which allows hitting from age 11 onwards. [2] The league has stirred up some amount of controversy.

The league is being considered as "outlawed" by Hockey Canada, the governing council of ice hockey in Canada. [3][4]

The first tryouts for the TNCHL was held on April 13, 2009, where 25 skaters showed up. [5] The league operates with 3 teams in its first year and are preparing to expand to 8 teams for the 2010-11 second year.
