To be determined in the future. Often abbreviated TBD.

In hockey this term is often used when:

  1. a regular season game had to be cancelled and a new date/time/venue has been chosen for the rescheduled game.
  2. a playoff series has not had both of its' participants decided (ie the series which determine the participants have yet to be finished).
  3. a tournament may have the host team playing at the time where it would generate the best attendance, this is usually for regional and national tournaments such as the Allan Cup and National Junior A Championship qualifying tournaments
  4. Early round NHL playoff series games that are held on the weekends may have the games planned out so that either all the games scheduled for that day can be watched or the most appealing game to the networks which hold the broadcasting rights feel would bring in the highest ratings.
  5. A trade of players is made between two or more teams and not all of the details have been worked out. Usually when a team has an important player injured and they need someone right away and what they are giving to the other team has not been decided (players, cash, draft picks)
