The Sudbury Cubs were a Tier II Junior "A" team. They played in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League from 1978 to 1992. In 1982-83 they were known as the Sudbury North Stars.
They became the Nickel Centre Cubs in 1992.
The Cubs won the league in 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991 and won the Dudley Hewitt Cup in 1990.
