Based in Stoney Creek section of Hamilton, Ontario, the Generals play their home games at the Gateway Ice Centre. The Stoney Creek Generals are the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 regular season champions. The Stoney Creek Generals are 2 time recipients of the Robertson Cup in 2015-16 and 2016-17.

The team has had a rivalry with the nearby Brantford Blast and Dundas Real McCoys, and now the newly established (for 2015-16) the Hamilton Steelhawks, which are all located with about a 50 km (30 mile) radius.

The Brantford Blast would sit out the 2018-19 season when  the long time operator of the team announced he was stepping aside.  The Generals would open up the season playing at the Brantford Civic Centre.[1].  Prior to the 2019-20 season it would be announced that the team would relocate to Brantford and be renamed the Brantford Blast.
