The St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex is a multipurpose facility which features indoor and outdoor athletic venues. The facility was built in segments with two arenas. The Dave Torrey Arena is the present name of the original arena which opened in 1972. The second sheet opened in December of 1997 and would become the Ritsche Arena. The first arena was originally known as the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex but both facilities were named in a ceremony on July 23, 1998. As part of the second arena construction the original (Torrey) arena was expanded to seat 1,800 and the newer arena seats 400.
