Shane Sims (born April 30, 1988) is an American ice hockey defenseman.[1] He is from East Amherst, New York. He attended The Ohio State University.[2] He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 5th round (126th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. On April 9, 2011 he signed a one-day NHL regular season amateur tryout agreement.[3] On April 9, 2011 he appeared in the Islanders 2010-2011 season finale against the Philadelphia Flyers late in the 3rd period making his NHL debut.[4]

He now plays for the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.
