Sean Owens (born March 31, 1979 in Victoria, British Columbia) is a professional ice hockey defenceman currently with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL.

Collegiate career Edit

Owens played collegiately for Northern Michigan University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, starting in 1998. Owens would play four years for the Wildcats, scoring 42 points in 135 games. Owens most productive season was his senior year during the 2001-02 season, when he netted four goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 40 games.

Professional career Edit

Owens became a professional in 2002, when he signed with the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL. Owens would go on to play three seasons with Columbia, racking up 89 points in 212 regular season games and nine points in 25 playoff games, including a trip to the Kelly Cup Finals in his rookie season where the Inferno would eventually fall to the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies four games to one.

After three seasons with Columbia, Owens decided to head to Europe, signing with the EC Hannover Indians of Germany's Oberliga in 2005. Owens would score 35 points in 50 games with Hannover, before signing with the Oberliga's Heilbronner Falken. In his one season in Heilbronn, Owens would notch 30 points in 48 games.

In 2007, Owens would return to North America when he signed with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers. In his first season in Las Vegas, Owens scoreed 14 points in 39 points and played in two of the Wranglers playoff games.
