Sean Monahan is an ice hockey player for the Ottawa 67s of the Ontario Hockey League. He was selected sixteenth overall in the 2010 OHL Draft.

Playing careerEdit

Prior to the OHL Draft, Monahan played with the Minor Midget Mississauga Rebels. As a Rebels player, he registered 46 goals and 90 points in 47 games. Of note, he participated at the 2010 OHL Cup, and was named Most Valuable Player. He accumulated five points in the Rebels 5-3 semi-final win. Monahan accounted for all the points in the 2-1 championship victory over the Toronto Young Nats.


He joined the Ottawa 67s in the 2010-11 season. Statistically, he accumulated 20 goals and 47 points in 65 games. In March 2011, he tied for the rookie scoring lead with 18 points during the month. His 11 goals scored during the month were tied for second in the league. On March 2, he recorded his first OHL hat trick in a 5-4 win over the Belleville Bulls. Two nights later, he logged two goals and an assist in a 5-2 victory against the Barrie Colts.

Hockey CanadaEdit

Monahan helped Team Ontario capture gold at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in 2010 by scoring 2 goals in the final. In addition, he was invited to Hockey Canada's Under 18 Camp in summer 2010.
