Stephen Scott Garland (May 16, 1952 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada – June 9, 1979) was a professional ice hockey centre who played three seasons in the National Hockey League for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Los Angeles Kings.

He played junior hockey for the Montreal Junior Canadiens and the Peterborough Petes. Undrafted by an NHL club, he signed as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs after spending a year with the Tulsa Oilers.

Garland was a hard-working tough player. He finally got a call to the Leafs in 1975-76, scoring 7 points in 16 games. The following season he played 69 games for the Leafs.

In 1978 he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings but only played 6 games for them.

Garland played 91 career NHL games, scoring 13 goals and 24 assists for 37 points. Garland died of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on June 9, 1979 after blowing a tire driving in Montreal, Quebec and hitting a wall.
