Scot Brian Kleinendorst (January 16, 1960 – December 17, 2019) is a former American ice hockey defenseman.
Chosen 98th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, Kleinendorst also played in the NHL for the Hartford Whalers and Washington Capitals.
He played for Providence College from 1978 to 1982 and then joined the United States team in the 1982 World Championship. Kleinendorst turned pro in the Rangers' system in 1982-83 and split his time between New York and the minors. Injuries limited his ice time.
In 1984 he was traded to the Hartford Whalers for Blaine Stoughton. Kleinendorst quickly became a regular with the Whalers and enjoyed three and a half excellent seasons with the NHL team. Injuries caught up to him in 1988-89 and he was traded to the Washington Capitals near the end of that season. The accumulated injuries, however, prevented him from being a full-timer and he retired in 1990.
In his NHL career he scored 12 goals and 46 assists in 281 games.
His brother is Kurt Kleinendorst.
