Sami Evelyn (born January 8, 1990) is an ice hockey player for the Connecticut Huskies women's ice hockey program.

Playing career[]

Evelyn attended John McCrae Secondary School in Nepean, Ontario while playing for the Ottawa NCCP Intermediate AA team. She was named to Team Ontario Red in 2007 as she participated in the Under 18 Canadian Championships. In addition, she played for Team Ontario at the 2007 Canada Winter Games.[1]

NCAA[]

She scored her first career NCAA goal on October 4, 2008 in a match versus the MSU-Mankato Mavericks. On November 28, 2009, she matched a career-high point effort as she notched two assists at Yale in the Nutmeg Classic Championship game. In the 2010 Hockey East tournament, Evelyn was a +2. During the 2010–11 Connecticut Huskies women's ice hockey season, she scored five goals and a team-high 14 assists for 19 points (all career highs). She led all Huskies defenders in scoring, while placing third overall in team scoring. Her 0.54 points per game ranked fourth among Hockey East defenders. She also ranked third in conference games (0.52 points per game).
