Ron Shudra (born November 28, 1967 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a retired professional ice hockey player who holds dual Canadian and British nationality.

Playing Career Edit

Shudra played for the junior Kamloops Blazers in 1985-86 & 1986-87. In the first year he shared the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as the rookie-of-the-year and was named to the second all-star team. In the second season he was again named to the second all-star team and made the Memorial Cup tournament all-star team.

He was drafted 63rd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft and played ten games for them in 1987–88 season. After that he played all his time in the minor pros, despite a trade to the New York Rangers.

In 1990 Shudra crossed the Atlantic to Great Britain and joined the Solihull Barons. After three seasons he then joined the Sheffield Steelers for nine more years. He retired in 2002 after playing for several other British teams.

Coaching Career Edit

Shudra was the player / coach for the Sheffield Scimitars in the English Premier Ice Hockey League and named as junior coach on May 3,2009.
