Robert Douglas Whistle (born April 4, 1961 in Thunder Bay, Ontario) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played for the New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL).

He played Tier II Junior "A" for the Thunder Bay Flyers from 1976 to 1979, then major junior with the Kitchener Rangers from 1979 to 1981, and finally college hockey with the Wilfred Laurier Golden Hawks from 1981 to 1985.

Whistle was signed as a free agent by the New York Rangers on August 13, 1985. He played 32 games for the Rangers before getting traded to St. Louis for Tony McKegney and Bruce Bell. After playing 19 games for the Blues, he was traded to the Washington Capitals. However, he played for their farm club the whole season, and he retired at the end of that season.

He played in a total of 51 NHL games, scoring 7 goals and 5 assists.
