Klinkhammer played his first professional game with the Norfolk Admirals. He made his professional debut on October 19, 2007 against Binghamton and chipped in an assist. He scored his first career professional goal on November 23, 2007 against Springfield and added two assists for the Admirals 4-2 win. He registered an assist in four out of his five games with Norfolk
Chipped in a season high three points (1 goal - 2 assists), including the game-winning goal, on October 23, 2007 against Springfield in the Admirals 4-2 win and has scored four goals in a six game stretch from 3/12/08-3/22/08.
He began his final season in the junior ranks with the Seattle Thunderbirds and played in one game. In 11 postseason games with Brandon, had eight points after the Wheat Kings won the WHL’s East Division Title.
