Philippe Lefebvre (born February 2, 1991) is a Canadian ice hockey left wing who played for the Hamilton Bulldogs and Rockford Icehogs of the AHL. He is currently studying at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières.
Lefebvre was invited to the Montreal Canadiens training camp in 2009. Three days later he was signed as a free agent to a three-year contract by the Canadiens. On July 5, 2013, he was traded to the Florida Panthers with a 7th round pick in exchange for George Parros.[1]
On November 14, 2013, he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks along with Kris Versteeg in exchange for Jimmy Hayes and Dylan Olsen.[2]
At the expiration of his entry-level contract, Lefebvre was not tendered a new contract by the Blackhawks and opted to pause his professional career and focus on studies at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières. He will be eligible to play for their hockey team in the 2015–16 season.[3]
