  • Pat Doyle's career stats at The Internet Hockey DatabasePat Doyle (born Nov. 27, 1950, Winnipeg, MB): Pat Doyle's Junior A hockey career with the West Kildonan North Stars was cut short when he landed a job as an office boy with the Winnipeg Tribune in 1969. It was either play hockey or start a career. He chose the career and spent the next 30 years in sports journalism with the Winnipeg Tribune, Toronto Sun, Calgary Sun, Toronto Star and Winnipeg Sun. He played one game as a late-season call-up from the East End Barons of the Greater Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association Juvenile league in the 1968-69 season, but only four games the following year. At 5-feet-5 and only 128 pounds, he was the smallest player in the MJHL.
