History of hockey in Pakistan[]
There are rinks in Lahore and Karachi. Ice hockey is played there. The nation has submitted a bid to become an International Ice Hockey Federation member in 2005, indicating there must be some activities held in the country and some will to develop it. The application was postponed by the Federation until the country showed a better ice hockey structure. Little is known as of the state of the sport in the country as of now; however, given the climate in the northern parts of the country and the fact that field hockey is actually regarded as Pakistan's national sport, efforts to develop its winter counterpart do seem logical.
