The Ontario Junior A Hockey League (OJAHL) is one of two Canadian Tier II Junior A ice hockey leagues operating in Southern Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Hockey Association, the Canadian Junior Hockey League, and Hockey Canada. Announced July 26, 2009, the OJAHL features 15 teams from Southern Ontario and New York, all eligible to compete for the Dudley Hewitt Cup and Royal Bank Cup.

The other Junior A league in the OHA has yet to be named. The OJAHL will be distinct from the other league as it will still follow the Canadian Development Model, while the other league will have modified rules.

For season-by-season results from the OJAHL, please see: List of OJAHL seasons.

HistoryEdit

The league was formed in the Summer of 2009 after a long period of infighting, within the now defunct Ontario Junior Hockey League. The 15 core teams of the OJAHL are in agreement that they wish to stick to the Canadian Development Model, while keeping operational control more the responsibility of the individual of the team than the league as a whole as is in the other unnamed league.
