The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League (formerly the Nova Scotia Junior B Hockey League) is a Junior "B" ice hockey league in Nova Scotia, Canada, sanctioned by Hockey Canada. The winner of the Nova Scotia playoffs competes for the Don Johnson Cup, for the Atlantic Junior "B" Championship

History[]

The league was founded in 1980 by Al Hollingsworth as the Mainland Junior B Hockey League.

Since 1992, the league champion has been the de facto provincial champion as the league has been the only Junior B level in the province since then.  The Antigonish-Pictou-Colchester Junior B Hockey League, Cape Breton Junior B Hockey League, Eastern Junior Hockey League (1974-1978), and Northumberland Junior B Hockey League had previously played on and off in various forms from 1967 to 1992, when the CBJBHL folded and the then NSJBHL become the proviniclal wide league.
