Norman Gerrard "Red" Armstrong (October 17, 1938 – July 23, 1974) was a professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League.

Playing careerEdit

Norm Armstrong played seven games in the NHL for the Toronto Maple Leafs. During those games, he scored one goal and added one assist for a total of two points. He also earned two penalty minutes.

In 1958-59 he played for the Junior "B" Sarnia Legionnaires and in 1959-60 for the senior Wallaceburg Hornets. Armstrong turned pro with the Charlotte Checkers in 1960-61.

He spent the better part of his career with the Rochester Americans from 1962 until his retirement in 1973.

He was inducted into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame in 1986. He played for the Americans during 1962–71. He is third in the Americans franchise for most games played at 566. Following his untimely death from a fall in a construction accident in 1974 at age 35 the Rochester Americans retired his number six jersey.
