Canadian Junior A Outline

The NorMan Junior Hockey League (NJHL) was a Canadian Junior "A" hockey league in the Province of Manitoba. The league existed from 1978 until 1985.

The NorMan Junior Hockey League was formed in 1978 when the Flin Flon Bombers defected from Major Junior and the Thompson King Miners left the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Teams from Snow Lake and The Pas joined them. The NJHL started as a Junior B league in its first year, but was then promoted to Junior A for its second season, allowing its champions to compete for the Turnbull Cup and possibly the Anavet Cup, Abbott Cup, and Centennial Cup. The league was greatly weakened after the Flin Flon Bombers joined the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and ended the 1984-1985 regular season after The Pas Huskies withdrew late in the season, hoping to join a junior B league. The league disbanded during the summer of 1985. The Thompson franchise tried to form a new junior A level league in the area and then tried to join the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. However, neither of these plans came to fruition.
