Nicole Nelson is a former American women’s ice hockey player that competed for the Mercyhurst Lakers.

Playing career[]

In her senior year of high school, she helped Minot High School (North Dakota) to its third consecutive state tournament appearance. In addition, the school earned their second consecutive West Division title. As a senior, she compiled a won-loss record of 9-8-1 while posting six shutouts. Several accolades at Minot High School include first team all-state (twice) and all-tournament team selection. Statistically, Nelson ended her high school career with a record of 45 wins, compared to 27 losses and four ties. Her goals against average was 1.71, while her save percentage was .960.

Nelson also played on Team North Dakota during her high school years. As a member of Team ND, she was part of three appearances at the Chicago Showcase Tournament.

NCAA[]

Nelson joined Mercyhurst College in the autumn of 2005 and appeared in two games. The following season, she participated in the third period of a 7-0 win versus the Robert Morris Colonials while stopping seven shots. The 2007-08 campaign saw Nelson play two periods in a win versus Quinnipiac on January 25, 2008.
