New York is a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States. With 62 counties, it is the country's third most populous state.

New York is home to three NHL teams. The Rangers play in New York City, the Islanders play on Long Island and the Sabres play in Buffalo. New York is also home to the Albany River Rats, Binghamton Senators, Rochester Americans and, Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League The ECHL team Elmira Jackals also plays in NY.
