The Moncton Events Centre is an indoor arena to be located in downtown Moncton, New Brunswick. The facility was approved to go forward by the Moncton City Council on March 26, 2014. Ground was broken in the spring of 2016 on the $100 million project. The facility is expected to be ready for the 2018-19 season, originally is was planned to be open for the 2017-18 season. The facility is planned to have approximately 7,500 seats. The arena will replace the Moncton Coliseum, which opened in 1973, as the primary events venue for the city. When the arena opens it will become the home of the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
