Elwin "Moe" Morris (January 3, 1921 – February 6, 2000) was a professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League. A defenceman, he shot left and was 5'11 and 185 lb during his career. He was born in Toronto, Ontario.

Playing career[]

Morris played 135 games over a five year period from 1944 to 1949 in the National Hockey League for the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers. He scored 13 goals and added 29 assists for 42 points. He won a Stanley Cup in 1945 with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He played junior hockey for the Toronto Marlboros from 1937 to 1941. In 1941-42 he played for the senior Marlboros and in 1942-43 he played for the senior Toronto Navy team.

The Toronto Maple Leafs brought him up in 1943-44 when he scored 12 goals and 21 assists in the season. He played through the 1945-46 season, winning the Stanley Cup in 1945. He was sent down to the Pittsburgh Hornets late in the 1945-46 season and was traded to the New York Rangers in 1948.

Morris only played 18 games for the Rangers in 1948-49 and then was sent down to the Providence Reds. He played for the Reds through 1952-53 and then joined the senior Owen Sound Mercurys. The following year (1954–55) he played and coached for the senior Stratford Indians and retired.
