Michael Heidt was a professional hockey defenceman who played for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.

He played junior for the Calgary Wranglers from 1980-1983, scoring 95 points in the 1982-83 season. The Kings had chosen him 27th overall in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft.

Heidt played 6 games for the Kings in 1983-84 (scoring one assist) but was then quickly sent to the minors. He played 1985-86 for Mount Royal College and then departed for Germany.

In that country he played for various clubs until he retired in 1998, Heidt also played for Germany in the 1992 Olympics, the 1992 World Championship, the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, and the 1998 Olympics.
