Melissa Boal is a former Canadian womens ice hockey player that competed for the Wayne State Warriors. She is one of only four players in NCAA history to reach 100 goals and 100 assists in her career. At the time of her graduation, her 216 points ranked as the ninth-highest total in NCAA history.

Playing career

She joined the Wayne State Warriors in the autumn of 2005, and finished her freshman campaign tied for the CHA league scoring title with two players (including fellow Wayne State rookie: Sam Poyton). Each had 19 points in 12 CHA contests. During the 2007–08 season, Wayne State had the top four scorers in the nation in terms of points per game. Boal led the NCAA with 2.16 points per game and finish as a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award. Her contributions helped the Warriors to a 10th place ranking in the national polls at the end of the 2007–08 season. She finished her NCAA career as Wayne State's all-time leader in every career offensive category. In the 2008-09 campaign, she ranked second in the CHA in points (54), goals (29), and power-play points (23). Her assists (25) and power-play goals (8), both ranked fifth in the league.
