Both the Victorias and the Winnipegs iced a junior team for the 1891-92 season. The junior teams were commonly know as the second seven. These two teams played four games against each other, with each winning two. It should also be noted that the Winnipeg Rowing Club also had a junior team, that played two games against the Rowing Club’s senior team.

Wednesday evening, December 30th 1891, the first junior hockey game in Manitoba was played. The Victorias defeated the Winnipegs five to three. The players were:

On Thursday evening, February 4th, the Colts of the Winnipegs defeated the junior Victorias five to one. The match was a hot one from start to finish, being much more even than the score would indicate. Martin scored at least four goals for the Winnipegs, possible all five, Hardisty replied for the Victorias. The players were:

The hockey match on Sunday afternoon, March 14th, between the junior sevens of the Winnipegs and and Victorias was the best and most exciting junior contest to date between those teams this winter. The play from beginning to end was fast and furious, the Winnipegs having slightly the better of it during most of the game, defeating the Victorias three to one. Black and Archer gave the Winnipegs a two goal lead before Hardisty narrowed the gap. Waghorn scored the lone goal of the second half. The players were:

On Saturday evening, March 19, the Victorias defeated the Winnipegs five to four in a hard fought game. The Winnipegs led three to one at the half, Martin, Black and Osborne scoring. Replying for the Victorias was Benson with the first of three, including the winner. Hardisty also scored a pair for the Victorias, Taylor rounded out scoring for the Winnipegs.
