Leo Peter Lamoureux (born October 1, 1916 in Espanola, Ontario, Canada - January 11, 1961) was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. Lamoreaux played his entire National Hockey League career with the Montreal Canadiens.
He played junior and senior hockey in Northern Ontario with the Porcupine Combines and the Kirkland Lake Blue Devils and junior for the Oshawa Generals. He also spent the 1938-39 season with the Earls Court Rangers in Great Britain.
Lamoureux was named a QSHL First team All-Star in 1940 with the Cornwall Flyers and then played for the senior Hamilton Dofascos in 1940-41.
The Montreal Canadiens called him up for the 1941–42 season. He won two Stanley Cups with Montreal in 1944 and 1946. He left the Canadiens after the 1946-47 season.
Lamoureux played for several minor pro teams until he retired for the first time in 1953. He made a two season comebakc in 1955 and after played a few games for the Cleveland Barons in 1959-60.
He was a player-coach of the Shawinigan Falls Cataractes from 1948–1950 and of the Indianapolis Chiefs in 1955-56.
Lamoureux also coached the 1950-51 and 1951-52 Charlottetown Islanders of the Maritime Major Hockey League guiding the Islanders to regular season and playoff title honours in 1950-51.
In the NHL he played in 235 games, scoring 19 goals and 79 assists.
The Leo P. Lamoureux Memorial Trophy is named after him.
