Leif Svensson (born July 8, 1951) is a retired Swedish ice hockey player. Svensson spent parts of two seasons with the Washington Capitals in the late 70s. He was a fine playmaker and solid positional defender who was best known as a domestic stalwart in his native Sweden.

Born in Härnösand, Sweden, Svensson played with Nacka HK and Södertälje SK before moving up to Stockholm's powerful Djurgårdens IF. In June, 1978 he was signed as a free agent by the Washington Capitals then scored 31 points and recorded a solid -3 plus/minus rating as a rookie. He then helped Sweden win the bronze medal at the World Championships before returning to Washington for one more year. Svensson retired in 1982 after playing two years with Djurgården.
