Kjell Samuelsson (born 18 October, 1958 in Tingsryd, Sweden) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently the associate coach of the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League.
Samuelsson was chosen 119th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. He played 813 career NHL games, scoring 48 goals and 138 assists for 186 points, as well as compiling 1,225 penalty minutes. He won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992. He retired after playing one season with the Tampa Bay Lightning after the 1998–1999 NHL season. Samuelsson played the majority of his career with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Samuelsson was named the head coach of the Phantoms on October 23, 2006 after then-Phantoms coach Craig Berube was named the assistant coach of the Philadelphia Flyers to fill the void left by John Stevens, who was named head coach of the Flyers after Ken Hitchcock was fired. After another mediocre season in which the Phantoms failed to make the AHL playoffs for the second year in a row, Samuelsson was demoted to associate coach of the team (Craig Berube being named as his replacement for the 2007 – 2008 season).
