The Kenora Thistles were, at various times, a professional, senior, intermediate, and junior team. They have won a host of championships, including their most famous - the Stanley Cup in 1907. Kenora is the smallest town to have ever won the cup. The Junior Thistles were the 1939-40 Memorial Cup Final runner-ups. A number of NHL players have played for the Thistles including Art Ross, Charley McVeigh, Chuck Rayner, Bill Juzda and Mike Richards.
