Kayla Hottot was a womens ice hockey player from Sombra, Ontario.
Playing career
Hottot played in the Sarnia Lady Sting program, followed by two seasons with the London Juniors. In addition, she participated with the Team Ontario Under-18 program. At Sarnia Collegiate, Hottot helped the Blue Bombers to a pair of hockey championships.[1]
CIS
Hottot competed for the Ottawa Gee-Gees of the RSEQ. On January 16, 2008, Hottot played in a game at Scotiabank Place in Kanata, Ontario as the Gee-Gees played the Carleton Ravens.[2] On August 11, 2008, she was part of a team consisting of CIS All-Stars that challenged the Canadian National Under 22 squad at York Univeristy. The Under 22 team prevailed by a 4-2 tally.[3] In the 2008-09 campaign, she was named the Gee Gees assistant captain. In a March 6, 2009 playoff game versus the Carleton Ravens, Hottot scored one of the goals in a 2-1 victory over Carleton to win in the best-of-three QSSF semifinal 2-1.[4]
Hockey Canada
In 2001-2002, Hottot was a member of Team Ontario Blue. In 2005, she was part of the Under 18 Team Ontario squad which completed in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. At the 24th Winter Universiade hosted in 2009 by Harbin, China, she was a member of the gold-medal winning Team Canada squad.
Other
In February 2010, Hottot was one of the female qualifiers for a Red Bull Crashed Ice competition.[5] She would advance to the 2010 Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship finals in Québec City in March 2010.[6] Other Gee Gees women's ice hockey players that have competed in the Red Bull Crashed Ice include Fannie Desforges and Dominique Lefebvre[7].
Coaching career
She joined the Gee-Gees as the strength and conditioning coach in the summer of 2011
