Julien Ellis (born January 27, 1986 in Sorel, Quebec) is a professional ice hockey goaltender. He currently plays for the Kalamazoo Wings of the International Hockey League and is a prospect for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League.

Playing career[]

Ellis played major junior hockey in the QMJHL with the Shawinigan Cataractes. He recorded a 2.85 goals-against-average and a .903 save-percentage in 59 games played during his draft year, in 2003–04. Ellis was chosen in the sixth round, 189th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Upon being drafted, Ellis returned to the Cataractes for two more seasons, which included a junior career high 2.41 GAA, .921 SV% campaign in 2004–05.

Ellis turned professional in 2006–07, entering the Canucks' farm system in the American Hockey League and ECHL. He played the majority of the season with the Victoria Salmon Kings while playing eight games for the Manitoba Moose.

In 2007–08, won 24 games in 42 appearances and was chosen to the ECHL All-Star Game.
