Jim West. Is a retired sports announcer and radio talk show host. He is best remembered for his play by play announcing of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks hockey games. Was behind the mike when Stan Mikita scored his 500th goal of his career. He also was paired with Jack Brickhouse doing Chicago Cubs baseball games. In Chicago from 1970-1977. After leaving, returned home to his native Baltimore. Worked as a sports anchor and talk show host for WBAL Radio. Worked as the voice of Maryland football and reported from Camden Yards frequently. In 1995, went into semi retirement and continued working well into the 2000's. In 2009, was elected to the Maryland Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
