2008 to present: Jamestown Jets

The Jamestown Jets are a junior ice hockey team based in Jamestown, New York. They are the flagship franchise of the Northern Junior Hockey League, which is run by the Jets management and is also based in Jamestown. They play their games at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena in Jamestown, New York. They played the 2008-2009 season in the United Junior Hockey League before leaving after the season.

The team was announced in March 2008. The team's name comes from the Winnipeg Jets and was chosen by a fan.[1]

The franchise was founded by majority owner Barry Soskin and Dennis Canfield in March of 2008 and the team logo and name was released on April 22, 2008 at a press conference at the JSBIA.
