He started out in junior with the Calgary Jimmies from 1931 to 1933. After that he played senior hockey. He won the Allan Cup in 1936 with the Kimberley Dynamiters. He then played for them as Canada's representative in the 1937 World Championship and won the gold medal.
In 1943-44 he returned to senior with the Red Deer Army Wheelers and then missed the 1944-45 season due to military service. He played part of the 1945-46 season for the Tulsa Oilers. Until he retired in 1950, he played for the senior Regina Capitals, Kimberley Dynamiters, Saskatoon Quakers, Swift Current Broncos, and the Kamloops Elks.
