J. D. Corbin (born March 23, 1985, in Littleton, Colorado) is an American professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing with the Bakersfield Condors of the East Coast Hockey League.

Playing careerEdit

Corbin was drafted 249th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by homestate team, the Colorado Avalanche. He played two years in the U.S. National Development Team before playing four years of collegiate hockey with the University of Denver. In his senior year with D.U Corbin was limited to only 10 games after suffering a broken leg and ankle ligament damage. With his amateur career over Corbin, unsigned from the Avalanche, attended Colorado's preseason camp on an amateur try-out.[1]

In the 2007–08 season, his first professional year, Corbin spent time with both Avalanche affiliate's, the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL and the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL. In the 2008–09 season, J.D. signed a one-year contract to remain with the Monsters. Corbin suffered an injury plagued season, appearing in only 19 games, but was named as the Monsters Man of the Year for his contributions to the Cleveland community.[2]

Unable to garner a contract for the following season and after two injury plagued years, Corbin took a one year hiatus before returning to professional hockey in signing a one-year contract with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL on August 17, 2010.[3]
