The Iowa Sports Arena Project is a proposed facility to be located in Coralville, Iowa.  A new arena and athlete training center are part of a project that Coralville hopes to build in the Iowa River Landing (IRL), a 180-acre mixed-use development located on Interstate 80 at Exit 242 (1st Avenue)

The facility is scheduled for a late 2016 ground breaking with a planned early to mid 2019 opening.  The facility is planned to include a 4,200 seat hockey rink which would become home for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes hockey program, which is presently a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association as a Division II member with two teams known as Gold and Silver.  The program would likely be elevated to varsity status for either 2018-19 or 2019-20.  The varsity team would probably end up in the Big Ten Conference; as it is already an all-sport member of the league.

The facility would also be on the radar of the United States Hockey League as the possible location for either an expansion or relocated franchise.
