The International Hockey League was a professional ice hockey league that existed in Canada and the United States from 1945 to 2001.
Six of its teams at the moment of the league's folding in 2001 were admitted as expansion teams in the American Hockey League; they are the Chicago Wolves, Grand Rapids Griffins, Houston Aeros, Utah Grizzlies, Milwaukee Admirals and Manitoba Moose; the Long Beach Ice Dogs and Cincinnati Cyclones joined the ECHL.
