The Hovet ("the Court"), formerly known as the Johanneshovs Isstadion, is an arena in Stockholm, Sweden. Opened in 1955, it was completed only seven years later, in 1962. The Hovet serves primarily for ice hockey events, being the home of two of the most prominent clubs of the history of Swedish hockey, Djurgårdens IF of the Elitserien and AIK of the Allsvenskan. Skarpnäcks AIK of the Swedish Division 2 also regularly plays home games there. The official capacity of the arena is 8,300 spectators when configured for hockey.
The inaugural game held at the Hovet was an international game between Sweden and Norway, a game won by Sweden 7-2. Initially an open stadium, the Hovet was turned into a full indoor facility in 1962 when a roof was added for the 1962 World Championship. A major rebuilding occurred in 2002, as every chair was replaced and a restoration area was added at one short end.
The other teams who have called Hovet home at some point in the past were: IK Göta, IFK Stockholm, Stureby SK, Mälarhöjden/Västertorp, Brinkens IF, AC Camelen and Hammarby IF. Karlbergs BK, Årsta Södra IF, Huddinge IK, Danderyd/Täby Hockey and Lidingö HC have played occasional home games in their official leagues at the arena, and at least IF Cobran and Reymersholms IK have played pre-season home games there.
