Harold Bjorn “Hal” Sigurdson

began working at the Winnipeg Free Press in 1951, starting as a copy boy and eventually becoming a reporter... from 1963 to 1966, sports editor of the Calgary Albertan... assistant sports editor at the Vancouver Sun from 1966 to 1976... returned to Winnipeg as the sports editor at Free Press, serving in the position from 1976 to 1989... then as a sports columnist until retirement in 1996... covered junior and senior hockey, the Western Hockey League and the World Hockey Association... named to the Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Media Roll of Honour.
